A few days after Christmas, we packed up our car again and traveled the last 3 days back to Minot. We stopped at Sonic for lunch the first day in Mark Twain's hometown and Henry enjoyed eating his grilled cheese standing up on the back seat. The second night, we stopped in Fargo. We knew there was a storm about to blow through, but we couldn't decide whether to keep driving up to Grand Forks and then take Route 2 west the next day, or to wait it out in Fargo and take 94 West through Bismarck. The next morning, we woke up to the above sight out our hotel window. That picture was taken a little before lunchtime (to give you an idea of how hard it was snowing). Minot AFB was closed, so we decided to stay put an extra day. Henry occupied himself by parking his cars over and over again on the dresser. I occupied myself by running around the corner to the grocery store that had a Caribou Coffee inside :-) We also took Henry to Toys R Us to burn off some energy. It was nice in a way to have one more day in civilization. If I had to live in North Dakota the rest of my life, I would probably choose to live in Fargo - at least I'd be close to Minnesota! It was such a shock to get back to the cold weather. Henry was not at all thrilled to be back in a snowsuit again. Good thing I bought one off the internet before we left Maryland!
