A Weekend in the Mountains

Over Labor Day weekend, we drove to Manns Choice, PA to stay at White Sulphur Springs. We used to go every year with the Wright-Patterson crew when we lived in Dayton. We were able to meet up with them this year since we're close by in Maryland. I wish I had taken more pictures, but of course I only thought to pull out the camera when Henry was involved. Oh well.

Playing with Matt in the wagon in front of the old hotel (built in 1884)...

No idea what this face is about...

There were 2 little girls his age to play with during nursery time. Here he is keeping an eye on Annika...

Here is the porch of the hotel with its row of handmade rocking chairs. This is one of the events of the WSS triathlon during free time. The other two are eating and napping.

Henry became very interested in walking over the weekend. Saturday evening, we had a picnic dinner up the road and Henry walked all over the place holding Jody and my hands. We let him hold onto the stroller basket to walk back to the hotel, thinking he would get tired after a few yards. He walked all the way back! Matt thinks he walked a good 150 yards. Good thing I bought him some soft shoes the week before!

Henry also made a huge improvement with his eating skills at White Sulphur. He can now be trusted to pick up and eat a lot more foods, so tonight he ate his taco all by himself at Chipotle...
...and yes, the tin foil "plate" stayed on the table, amazingly.

Hello, Matt and Krista!! I would have posted on Facebook, but I am still learning how to do that! We are actually in Ukraine right now adopting our son Wesley. You can read about it on our blog if you like. I am so glad to have found you out here in cyberspace since I didn't get to see you before you left Dayton.
