Four Minotians And A Pug: Fun on the 4th

We had a great day of relaxing and seeing friends and family. We hung out at Bryan and Evelyn's in Alexandria for the afternoon and dinner. We hadn't seen their new place yet (well, they moved in '06, so not that new!). Bryan and Matt enjoyed revisiting their childhood by playing video games together, haha. Henry took an excellent nap in his pack n play at their house, allowing us to make a side trip to Fairfax on our way back home.

Why did we go to Fairfax you ask? To see my old college roommates of course! We lived in a townhouse in Colonial Williamsburg during my junior, their senior, year of college at William & Mary. We met through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship my sophomore year and were in a small group together. It was such a fun year and they were all amazing role models for me. Christine and Liz both married their college sweethearts, and I had met Carolyn's husband back when they were still dating, so it was great seeing everyone again. Christine has 2 little girls, the younger one is the same age as Henry. Carolyn's little boy is 4 months old, and Liz is 5 months pregnant.

With Henry's birthday coming up this week, Matt and I have been reminiscing about our life a year ago. Not about life with a newborn, but about living in beautiful California! We miss Santa Maria so much - the gorgeous weather every day, the wonderful church we attended and all the amazing friends we made there, the huge sweet strawberries, and the great places to see.
