Settling In, Again

(excuse the wacky font sizes - I have no idea what's going on)
It was so weird coming back to this house with an 18 month old. When we left last June, Henry was 10 months and not too interested in crawling all over the house. His winter clothes were still hanging in the closet and baby toys were in the toy bin. So now we've been putting away all the old clothes, baby sippy cups, blankets, etc. I have finally reorganized his closet and we made him his own little corner to play in downstairs. Good thing Target had a sale on exactly what we needed that day!

Here's Henry helping Daddy get the new cubbies together:

We also had to put up a baby gate at the top of our basement stairs. We have a door there, but those stairs are hard and treacherous, and we don't always remember to keep it shut. Again, Henry lent his expertise in sorting out all the pieces (this boy loves anything tiny):

Don't forget to take a break to play some Wii!

The finished corner:
I found the little garage in the above picture at a garage sale here (before we left last June) for $1, and of course it's Henry's favorite thing to play with now. It's perfect for all those cars:

There was one Christmas present that we had to wait to buy until we made it back to Minot. Henry has loved watching the Disney Cars movie ever since Grandpa R showed it to him in VA, so a Lightening McQueen chair arrived at our house last week (what would we do without the internet?!). He was so excited, he kept pointing to it and saying, "Mafeen!"

Like everything with Henry, he didn't want to get too close to it right away. So we stuck it in the corner after showing him how to sit in it (which he of course hated!). By the end of the evening, he was chillin' in his new seat. Matt caught him mid-yawn:
Now he drags that chair all over the place :

And, in case you were wondering whether it is still snowing or not...

Our backyard is actually in good shape. Most people can't even see their fence anymore! Bailey's area is by my feet in this picture. Well...actually, I was inside the garage taking this through the window, hahaha, so his spot is just outside and below this.

I just can't get over all the snow. It's really unbelievable! But your house looks warm and cozy and cute!
