Sunday afternoon, we drove over to Savage Mill and walked around. There was a trail through the woods running along a stream. Henry loved watching the water rushing over the rocks. We also walked through the shops in the old cotton mill nearby. The history of the building is fascinating. The mill has been restored into a little mall of locally owned shops. There were antiques and little crafty stores. We bought a little gray sandstone nativity set from a woman whose daughter and family lives in Kenya and helps support the locals there. Everything in her store was beautiful. I think Henry must have gotten a hold of the stone figures once we were home because Mary's nose is now chipped, oops!

We also met up with Bryan and Evelyn at Potomac Mills on Saturday. It's been so great to be so close to family. Henry loved looking around the Lego store. There was this huge Lego town that a local group had built with two trains speeding around and through it. It was the most amazing display, complete with Fabuland characters! I wish I would've taken a picture. Henry (and Matt!) wanted to stay there all day! Evelyn and I enjoyed shopping at Ross, Marshalls and Carter's later that evening on our own. She and Bryan are having a little boy in February so it was fun having a buddy in the little boys' section. Henry of course had a blast with Matt and Bryan back at the other Brooks house in Alexandria. Henry said a new first word while there and it happens to be one of Uncle Bryan's favorite words! He found Matt's wallet and started sorting through it, and Matt asked Henry if he was holding money and Henry said, "MONEY!" clear as a bell. We all laughed pretty hard. We're really gonna miss living so close to Uncle Bryan and Auntie Ev :-)
