There is so much to post from this past month. I am so behind! I'll catch up soon I hope. For now, here are a bunch of videos in no particular order...
I guess it's the Brooks side of him that gives him a love of keeping the beat, and his love of dancing must come from his Grandma Rudy. He notices rhythm in a lot of different noises. One morning we were doing laundry in our apartment and we noticed him bopping up and down. We realized he was listening to the beat of the washing machine spinning. He's also done this when mom was scraping eggs out of the skillet. Neither of us noticed that she was doing it at a steady beat, but Henny D knew! He bops constantly to music he hears in stores or from passing cars in traffic. So here he is bopping to the washing machine:
Here are two videos of Henry "dancing" in the foyer of Mom and Dad's house. We discovered that he was pointing to two different spots on the wall where the evening sun was casting shadows. How he thought to keep making circles instead of pointing back and forth?... I guess that's where he's inherited his Grandma Rudy's love of dancing!
We drove back to Maryland this past Sunday afternoon so Henry had lots of energy to burn that evening. Matt wanted to let him keep getting his wiggles out, so he didn't sit him in his highchair to eat his carrots. We're supposed to feed him more calories when we can (more on that later). Henry was walking back and forth along the coffee table between bites of carrots.
Peekaboo!
Here's a mom's eye view of Henry in action:
Here's one of Henry's favorite games to play at Grandpa and Grandma Rudy's house:
Alright people, pull out your "oh, your days are numbered!" comments - Henny D is learning to walk! He did a very wobbly version of this in North Dakota before we left, but he only did it twice and with just a few steps. Two days ago, I stood him up behind it and he took off all over the apartment. This was his first attempt. Mom was keeping him from going too fast since he was bulldozing his way across the floor! He's much better at it already.
