...our base paper can sit buried in the snow for 4 days and still be completely dry when we dig it out.
...frost forms on the inside of our kitchen windows.
...we can chill lukewarm drinks down by either setting them outside for 10 minutes or setting them by the kitchen window overnight.
...my neighbor Jo can't plug in her car because her extension cord froze to the ground.
...our garage has large patches of ice on the floor that refuse to melt.
...the snow we track into our van (which we keep in the garage) doesn't melt between uses.
...the automatic doors at Target and Best Buy completely stop working some days.
...my bottle of water left in the car while I'm in the mall will have chunks of ice in it when I return.
...our Columbia 3-in-1 parkas sound like crinkling plastic bags when we wear them outside, and also feel like them, brrrrr.
...the tires on Matt's car develop flat spots that don't even out for the first few miles, making for a very bumpy ride to work.
...an orange rubber traffic cone shattered into a hundred pieces instead of just bending when a car ran over it.
...Jo's car has a thin layer of ice on the floor inside that won't melt.
...our kitchen cabinet pantry (located against the outside wall of our kitchen) is now serving as a second refrigerator.
...Matt and I agree that we'd rather spend 30 minutes sitting inside our freezer than 5 minutes standing outside.
...a full day of sunshine doesn't even melt a millimeter of snow.
...Henry can't get some of his vaccines because the temperature has to be above zero enough days in a row to ship them here.
...the displays on the base gas station pumps barely work.
...Matt wears two shirts in the house.
...we couldn't take the picture of Henry in his snowsuit outside.
However...
It is not cold enough for...
...the locals to zip up their coats, or wear hats and gloves!
I think they must be half polar bear!
(This list is a work in progress, so this post will probably be updated from time to time.)

I had no idea it could even get that cold! Why do people live there, again?
Wow! Once again I am glad that you are the brave and inrepid explorer, reporting on all this so that we can stay down here in warm, comfortable VA and just try to imagine it all, LOL. That is such a cute snowsuit for Henry!
That should be "intrepid" explorer, of course.
