On June 17th, little Avery Brooke Ustick was born, weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz. Matt and I were still in Cedar Hill, so my mom kept us posted on Liz's progress with text messages. We were playing "cut throat" Uno with Mothie, Pawp and Neetie when Mom sent the first picture of Avery on our cell phones that evening. That was really exciting, passing around the picture - bringing the joys of technology to Cedar Hill! Here is Henry meeting his new cousin for the first time:

Some of their friends stopped by to see the baby, which was fun because since Brent and I hung out with the same crowd in college, I got to see some old friends. Below is Brent's roommate from college, Will (in the middle):
Brent's sister Kennan and her husband Travis are in the Navy, recently stationed at Norfolk. They came by for the afternoon on Saturday. They have a daughter Addison, who is exactly 6 weeks younger than Henry. Addison and Henry first met at Christmas. It was fun to watch their budding personalities interact.
Here is a picture of Henry demonstrating his scooting technique. One of these days I will post the video of this in action. Hardwood floors are his surface of choice, since that is what we have at our house in North Dakota. He swings his one leg under him as he steps forward with the other. He has discovered in our apartment in Maryland that the kitchen linoleum makes a great sound when he smacks it with his hands as he scoots through.
Saturday night, Matt, Brent and I headed over to Sno-To-Go, an old college favorite in Williamsburg. It was sooooo good. If any of you are ever in the area, you must try this place out. The "snow" is so finely shaved, you don't have to chew the ice at all, and the flavored syrup is so good - not like the usual sugary syrupy flavors of snow cones. The Stuffed Sno-Ball is the best because it has vanilla soft serve layered in. Yummmmm.Such great memories. It was a wonderful weekend!
